Lies of the enemy

It has been way too long since I have taken the time to write. Of course, I have written plenty in my personal journals with ink on paper.

I have been having some tough conversations with God. Spending a lot of time looking inward and discovering some areas yet to be dealt with. Yet, isn’t that how life goes? I don’t enjoy the process necessarily, but the outcome is always worth the pain and effort to produce the change within.

My discovery? I have believed way too many of the lies of the enemy. Lies that have caused me to act in ways that go contrary to who I am created to be. Lies that have stolen things from me. Lies that have caused me to question the very character of God. Lies that I did not even recognize until I began to get desperate about finding out the truth.

Oh, there is so much I could divulge to you about this process. I don’t feel the need to do that. We all have areas where we have been deceived by the enemy and taken the bait. We have accepted the lies as truth and made new assumptions about God, ourselves, our relationships, etc.

Instead, be encouraged. God loves us too much to allow us to continue to believe the lies. He will call us out subtly. He will reveal the deception. He will point us to the truth found in His Word. Then, when He reveals the truth, we must accept it and use it to combat the lies the enemy has given us.

It is the truth that will set us free. Free from the lies. Free from the bondage. Free to be who He has truly called us to be.
